SINOPSE :-
A história do cantor Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix), desde sua juventude em uma fazenda de algodão até o início do sucesso em Memphis, onde gravou com Elvis Presley, Johnny Lee Lewis e Carl Perkins. Sua personalidade marginal e a infância tumultuada fazem com que Johnny entre em um caminho de auto-destruição, do qual apenas June Carter (Reese Whiterspoon), o grande amor de sua vida, pode salvar.
CURIOSIDADES :-
– Foram necessários 4 anos para que os produtores conseguissem os direitos de adaptação para o cinema com o autor James Keach, que era amigo pessoal da família Cash. Após este período foram necessários ainda outros 4 anos para que o filme fosse feito.
-A cinebiografia de Johnny Cash foi recusada pela Sony Pictures, Focus Features, Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures e Warner Bros..
– Joaquin Phoenix foi uma escolha do próprio Johnny Cash, enquanto que Reese Whiterspoon foi escolhida por June Carter Cash.
– Joaquin Phoenix cantou todas as músicas em cena, tendo também recebido aulas de guitarra para compôr o personagem.
– Joaquin Phoenix e Reese Whiterspoon passaram por 6 meses de aulas de canto com o produtor musical T-Bone Burnett.
– A verdadeira June Carter Cash faleceu pouco antes do início das filmagens de Johnny e June. Como parte de sua pesquisa Reese Whiterspoon olhou seu guarda-roupa, como forma de buscar inspiração para interpretá-la.
